Hello! My name is Nola Moulton.
I look forward to meeting you.
I became a registered nurse in 1985 and have since worked in Newfoundland, the Northwest Territories, Alberta, and now Ontario. My experience spans community health, obstetrics, nursing education, corrections, and home care—roles that have allowed me to walk alongside people through some of life’s most challenging and meaningful moments.
Nurses witness the full spectrum of human experience, and I’ve been alongside people through some of life’s most joyful and most difficult moments: welcoming new babies, supporting families through loss, celebrating remission, and offering comfort at the end of life. These experiences shaped the way I practice today. My background in both medical nursing and mental health & addiction care gives me a unique, holistic understanding of the challenges people face and the many ways healing can unfold.
I offer counselling and support that considers the whole person—your story, your strengths, your culture, and your lived experiences. Depending on your needs, our work may include psychotherapy, trauma‑informed stabilization, self‑compassion practices, compassionate inquiry, somatic approaches, and other evidence‑informed interventions. Together, we focus on problem‑solving, lifestyle support, accessing resources, and building the tools you need to move forward.
My role is to walk with you on a pathway that honors your story. As you uncover the roots of patterns, pain, or challenges in your life, I’m here to support your healing and help you rise strong.
If you’re looking for a culturally safe, inclusive, and supportive environment to explore your mental health or work toward addiction recovery, I invite you to book a no-charge 15‑minute consultation.
I am a Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario-CNO-(License #25037745) and an NIHB Mental Health Counselling Provider (Provider #MH0630427).
These credentials allow me to offer nurse psychotherapy services across the province, including support for clients eligible for NIHB coverage.
My Promise to You
I will not rescue you,
For you are not powerless.
I will not fix you,
For you are not broken.
I will not heal you,
For I see you in your wholeness.
I will walk with you through the darkness,
as you remember your light.

Land Acknowledgment
At Rising Strong – Nurse Psychotherapy, I acknowledge all of the Indigenous, Métis and Inuit Peoples who have lived, travelled, and gathered on the lands called Ontario for thousands of years. These lands have been cared for since time immemorial and continue to hold deep meaning for Indigenous communities today.
I also honor my own ancestral connection to the Mi’kmaq People through my 3rd great‑grandmother, a recognized Mi’kmaq woman from Miawpukek First Nation in Ktaqmkuk (Newfoundland). While I do not claim Mi’kmaq identity or membership, I hold this lineage with gratitude and humility.
As a nurse psychotherapist, I honor the enduring presence, knowledge, and resilience of Indigenous Peoples, and I recognize the ongoing impacts of colonization on mental health, wellness, and community. My commitment is to offer care that is culturally safe, trauma‑informed, and grounded in respect for each person’s story, identity, and connection to the land.
I am grateful to live and work on these lands and remain dedicated to learning, unlearning, and walking in a good way as part of my practice and my life.
